AN ELEPHANT poops on her child’s head — and appears to know what she’s doo-dooing.

Locals in Zimbabwe’s Mana Swimming pools Nationwide Park informed wildlife snapper Jens Cullman it’s a bonding ritual that helps enhance the little-uns’ immune system.

However locals say it’s a bonding ritual that helps enhance the little-uns’ immune system[/caption]

German Jens, 50, stated: “What I’ve heard is that when the child get dung on it, it helps enhance the child’s immune system and possibly it’s some sort of bonding with the mom as effectively.

“I bought photographs of the calf trying in direction of me after which it will get up and the mum turns round and the calf follows her after which she drops her dung on him.

“The photographs have been thrilling for me, I’ve to confess. Family and friends I’ve proven them to assume they’re hilarious.

“Everybody was simply ‘wow wow wow’.”

However in a heartbreaking revelation Jens stated the mom elephant was ‘very skinny’ due to a nasty dry season within the park by which lots of elephants died and different animals suffered.

He stated the mom and child would have needed to spend the entire day in quest of any meals they may discover.

Jens stated: “In Mana Swimming pools this 12 months it was very dry and lots of animals suffered.

“The mom was a really skinny elephant as effectively. A number of elephants and child elephants died due to the drought.


“I noticed this little cute child elephant and stopped the automotive and walked a bit bit in direction of them and took the shot.

“They have been consuming. It was the top of the dry season they usually actually need to go the entire day by means of the park and search for what they’ll get.

“I adopted them as a result of I like these two elephants. I bought these cute pictures of the calf subsequent to the large foot of the mum.”
